The program provides a supportive environment to stimulate optimum growth in each individual in the following areas: socially, vocationally, spiritually, physically, and mentally. The program develops self worth within and outside the family community.
The Olive Branch provides an environment that enables the members to grow into their greatest potential. Several of the men have jobs in the community, while others participate in automotive and woodshop projects. The men learn custom fabrication, welding skills, structural design which in turn teaches them the science of how engines work. All the men participate in volunteer service at a local soup kitchen.
The daily program involves sharing meals together at the main house, devotion and prayer time, laundry, hiking, shopping, library trips, church and visiting friends. Vocational classes include welding, auto shop, cooking, gardening, woodshop, crafts, and landscape maintenance. In addition, the members participate in computer lab, movie night, a Bible study and game night.
The woodshop provides an opportunity for the men to assist in building southwest pole furniture. The men have made regular, canopy and bunk beds, tables and chairs, vanities, desks, and entertainment centers. In addition, they make bird houses, planters, and other craft items. The goal of the woodshop is to enable those men who do not work off the property an opportunity to have a vocation and contribute toward their own support. This allows them a degree of independence they have never experienced before.
